Was the reimbursement policy made by Amazon REALLY a death blow to how much money you are getting back for lost, damaged, etc?

A few months ago when this news came out, I had said I didn't think it was a big difference because even last year, most items were not getting full retail price as a reimbursement. Now the numbers are out, and Ill break it down, however important thing:

CHECK WHAT AMAZON says is your "sourcing cost." This is what Amazon has applied to your products and what youll be getting moving forward, and you have a chance to deny it. Its here: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/inventory-reimbursement/cost-management

I took a look at mine, and long story short, the "new" amounts are only on average about 15% less than what i was already getting. This is because as mentioned, Amazon was already not giving full retail price back on most items even in early 2024.

Interestingly, these "amazon sourced" prices are actually on average 20% HIGHER than my landed cost. Everyone was worried amazon not only wasnt going to give landed costs, but only your manufcturing costs.

Most seem to be going on about a 50% off of your median sale price the last year or so. Only 3 of my products had a really bad cost that was lower than my actual cost that Im going to fight them on

So takeaways are: do an analysis NOW on what Amazon is going to be reimbursing you, and make sure nothing weird is there. But in general, you shouldnt be getting TOO much less than before! (check comments for chart of some of my products
