These forums seem to be pretty inactive these days based on the dates of posts and replies, but thought I would ask anyway.

This isn't intended to be political.  Not Pro or Anti Trump, but he has threatened to levy pretty hefty (new) tariffs on various countries, including China.

Are you concerned about the potential increase in costs associated with sourcing products from China?  Are you making any adjustments to your business to help protect you from potential increases in costs?

What are you doing?

Not worried at all about it, because whatever happens affects all sellers equally importing from china, so isnt something that would give one advantage over another.  Where there might be issues is if half the sellers of a product import from india and india doesnt have those tarrifs, then theoreticlaly that would give indian manufactured products a benefit.

@bradley-sutton What do you think about the import tariffs now, Bradley? Both India and China have large tariffs . . . do you have any recent info about them?

Yeah, I’ve been keeping an eye on it. We import a decent chunk from China, so any tariff hike would definitely hit margins. Starting to look at alternative suppliers in Vietnam and India just in case. Not making any big moves yet, but staying flexible.

if the 140% keeps up, yeah, might be good to look at other countries, however for vietnam even they had a 46% tariff recently...
