i am having a hard time figuring out which category to place my product in. my competitors have them in a lot of different categories. how important is it to pick the right category and whats the benefit/signficance?

Its important as to the indexing of your keywords. What about the top 5 competitors? All different categories still even though the product is very similar to yours?
